I am a ceramicist making functional tableware for home, pieces shaped by use, by touch, and by the quiet rituals of everyday life.
Design and function are essential to my work. Each object is made to be held, to be used, to present, to serve, and to share. Food - its preparation and its presence - is a constant influence.
Trained and working as an architect, I approach making through an understanding form, proportion, function and space. I work from a small studio in my garden in London, where making, connecting with material, thinking through my hands, has always an essential part of my being.
